The success of your project is 99% preparation so before you hit order, here’s some things to consider along the way.

Check for adhesion - Request a sample kit and use these materials to check the surfaces and contours you are trying to cover. Not all surfaces are friendly to adhesive vinyl; certain plastics, unfinished wood, raw cement, and textured surfaces are some examples. If you’re ever unsure just ask

Look for obstacles - When dealing with big graphics such as wall murals and door wraps, its important to look for obstacles that can get in the way of installation. This may include unmovable objects such as pipes, electrical outlets, and fire alarm fixtures. Take note of this when planning for design, Nobody wants an AC duct covering a face or a door handle in an inconvenient part of your image.

Take good measurements - Sometimes walls, windows, and furniture can tilt and warp in unexpected ways. It’s always a good idea to measure from multiple sides and angles just to be sure. As the saying goes, “How come this MF wall isn’t straight?”

Plan for seams - The materials used for printing commonly come in rolls of a certain width. depending on the size of your graphic (such as a wall mural) a graphic will have a small overlap ( about .75”) when produced to complete a visual when installed. Large images on rigid panels will have to be tiled as well. Not only can keeping your print inside of these dimensions save money, but it will leave your finished project as seamless as possible.

How big is your door - It may seem silly but it’s no joke to order a beautiful large art print, only to find that it doesn’t fit in your elevator. The same goes for shipping and transport. If you are picking up locally, will this fit in your vehicle? Will this be easier to transport as one piece or multiples parts for trade shows and marketing events? planning for how it will move around after it’s produced is important to ensuring a stress free future with your graphics.
